Three bills with new designs ”I will use them from July next year”
The country is now making 10,000 yen, 5,000 yen, and 1,000 yen banknotes with new designs.

The new 10,000 yen is designed by Eiichi Shibusawa, who is called ”the father of Japanese economy”.
5,000 yen is for Umeko Tsuda, the first Japanese woman to study in the United States, and 1,000 yen is for Shibasaburo Kitasato, who researched bacteria.
