The whale, the mole, and the monk
Nachi Nachi Waterfall, located at Kumano Nachi Taisha in Wakayamaken, Wakayama Prefecture, is 133 meters high.
It is the tallest waterfall in Japan.
On the terrace of a temple near this waterfall, there is a bathtub that uses the water from Nachi Nachi's waterfall.
Once upon a time, a monk who lived on the terrace of this temple used the water from the waterfall to perform ascetic practices.
The monk thanked the whale and mole for bringing him the water from the waterfall and continued his training.
