4年ねん前まえの10月がつ31日にち、沖縄県おきなわけん那覇市なはしの首里城しゅりじょうで火事かじがありました

Four years ago on October 31st, there was a fire at Shuri Castle in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture.

「正殿せいでん」などの建物たてものが焼やけたため、今いま、新あたらしい建物たてものをつくる工事こうじをしています

Buildings such as the Seiden were burnt down, so construction is currently underway to construct a new building.

首里城しゅりじょうで31日にち、警備けいびの人ひとや消防士しょうぼうしなど250人にんぐらいが火ひを消けす練習れんしゅうをしました

On the 31st, about 250 people, including security personnel and firefighters, practiced putting out fires at Shuri Castle.

練習れんしゅうは、工事こうじ中ちゅうの新あたらしい正殿せいでんを覆おおっている建物たてものから火ひが出でたと考かんがえて、行おこないました

The practice was conducted under the assumption that the fire started from the building covering the new Seiden building, which is currently under construction.

警備けいびの人ひとが消火器しょうかきなどを使つかって火ひの消けし方かたを確認かくにんしたあと、消防士しょうぼうしが建物たてものに水みずをかけました

After security personnel confirmed how to extinguish the fire using fire extinguishers, firefighters poured water on the building.

穴あながあるホースから水みずを出だして、水みずのカーテンのようにして、火ひが広ひろがらないようにする練習れんしゅうも、初はじめてしました

For the first time, we practiced running water from a hose with holes to create a curtain of water to prevent the fire from spreading.

練習れんしゅうをした人ひとは「首里城しゅりじょうを安全あんぜんにして、皆みなさんが楽たのしむことができるようにしたいです」と話はなしました

The person who practiced said, ``I want to make Shuri Castle safe so everyone can enjoy it.’’

首里城しゅりじょうの新あたらしい正殿せいでんは、2026年ねんの秋あきにできる予定よていです

Shuri Castle’s new main hall is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026.
