[Breaking news] January-March GDP annual rate -2.0%, negative for the first time in two quarters

ことし1月つきから3月つきまでのGDP＝国内こくない総そう生産せいさんは、前まえの3か月かげつと比くらべた実質じっしつの伸のび率りつが年率ねんりつに換算かんさんしてマイナス2.0％と、2期きぶりにマイナスとなりました

From January to March this year, the real growth rate of GDP (gross domestic product) compared to the previous three months was -2.0% on an annualized basis, which was negative for the first time in two quarters.

内閣ないかく府ふが16日にち発表はっぴょうしたことし1月つきから3月つきまでのGDPの速報そくほう値ちは、物価ぶっかの変動へんどうを除のぞいた実質じっしつの伸のび率りつが前まえの3か月かげつと比くらべてマイナス0.5％となりました

The Cabinet Office announced on the 16th that the real GDP growth rate from January to March, excluding price changes, was -0.5% compared to the previous three months.

これが1年間ねんかん続つづいた場合ばあいの年率ねんりつに換算かんさんするとマイナス2.0％となり、2期きぶりのマイナスです

If this continues for one year, the annualized rate will be -2.0%, which is the first negative rate in two quarters.

主おもな項目こうもくをみると、「個人こじん消費しょうひ」は、前まえの3か月かげつと比くらべてマイナス0.7％でした

Looking at the main items, ”Personal consumption” was -0.7% compared to the previous three months.

自動車じどうしゃメーカーが認証にんしょう取得しゅとくをめぐる不正ふせいでこの時期じきに生産せいさんや出荷しゅっかを停止ていしした影響えいきょうで自動車じどうしゃの販売はんばいが減へりました

Automobile sales decreased as automakers suspended production and shipments during this period due to fraud related to certification.

「輸出ゆしゅつ」も前まえの3か月かげつと比くらべて5.0％のマイナスでした

”Exports” also decreased by 5.0% compared to the previous three months.

統計とうけい上じょう輸出ゆしゅつに計上けいじょうされる訪日ほうにち外国がいこく人じんの日本にっぽん国内こくないでの消費しょうひは増ふえましたが、認証にんしょう不正ふせいの問題もんだいを受うけて自動車じどうしゃなどの輸出ゆしゅつが落ち込おちこみました

Domestic consumption by foreign visitors to Japan, which is counted as exports in statistics, increased, but exports of automobiles and other goods fell due to the issue of certification fraud.

また企業きぎょうの設備せつび投資とうしもマイナス0.8％となりました

Corporate capital investment also decreased by 0.8%.

一方いっぽう、政府せいふによる「公共こうきょう投資とうし」は昨年度さくねんどの補正ほせい予算よさんの執行しっこうが進すすんだことでプラス3.1％、「住宅じゅうたく投資とうし」はマイナス2.5％でした

On the other hand, the government’s ”public investment” increased by 3.1% due to progress in implementing last year’s supplementary budget, and ”housing investment” decreased by 2.5%.
