アメリカのカリフォルニア州カリフォルニアしゅうに住すむ16歳さいの少年しょうねんが、自殺じさつしたことについて、その両親りょうしんがチャットGPTを作つくった会社かいしゃ「オープンAI」などを訴うったえました

The parents of a sixteen-year-old boy living in California, United States, have filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, over their son’s suicide.

少年しょうねんは去年きょねん9月がつからチャットGPTを使つかい始はじめ、最初さいしょは音楽おんがくや漫画まんがについて話はなしていました

The boy began using ChatGPT in September last year, and at first he talked about music and manga.

しかし、秋あきごろから「自殺じさつしたい」とチャットGPTに話はなすようになりました

However, around autumn, he began telling ChatGPT that he wanted to commit suicide.

そのとき、チャットGPTは専門家せんもんかに相談そうだんするように言いわず、会話かいわを続つづけました

At that time, ChatGPT did not tell him to consult a professional, but instead continued the conversation.

今年ことし1月がつには自殺じさつの方法ほうほうについて話はなし、4月がつには少年しょうねんの考かんがえを認みとめてしまいました

In January this year, they discussed methods of suicide, and by April ChatGPT ended up affirming the boy’s thoughts.

その後ご、少年しょうねんは自殺じさつしました

After that, the boy took his own life.

両親りょうしんは、チャットGPTが自殺じさつを助たすけたとして、会社かいしゃにお金かねを求もとめて訴うったえました

The parents sued the company, seeking compensation, claiming that ChatGPT had assisted in their son’s suicide.

オープンAIは、18歳さい未満みまんの子どもこどもが使つかうとき、親おやが使つかい方かたを見みたり、制限せいげんしたりできる「保護者制御機能ほごしゃせいぎょきのう」を作つくると発表はっぴょうしました

OpenAI announced that it will create a “parental control function” that allows parents to monitor and restrict how children under eighteen use the service.
