Delivery of parcels to U.S.A. is partially halted
The Trump administration has made a new rule
Until now, if packages cost less than $800 (~118,000円) to send to America, there were no taxes imposed.
But this exemption has disappeared as of June 29th.
Because of this, countries such as Japan, Australia, and Taiwan have partially halted delivery of packages to the U.S.
The goal of this rule modification is to protect America's domestic factories.
However, this raises big concerns about global postage and online shopping.
India, Thailand, South Korea, and New Zealand have also announced they will be temporarily stopping postal services to America.
For Japan's post, they have stopped accepting packages over $100 bound for America.
Australian post has also partially stopped postal service to America and Puerto Rico as of August 26th.
Taiwanese postal companies have also stopped service to America as of June 26th.
Due to all of this, many countries are finding it difficult to ship to America.
