National Park 100th anniversary commemorative coin released
National parks are parks designated by the country to continue protecting Japan’s beautiful nature.
There are now 34 national parks in Japan.
国立公園の法律ができてから、2031年で100年になります
2031 will be 100 years since the national park law was enacted.
We plan to design the nature of all the national parks in Japan on a silver 1000 yen coin.
The designs on the first coins will feature nature and animals from Okinawa Prefecture’s three national parks.
The animals in Iriomote Ishigaki National Park are the Iriomote cat, the Kerama Islands National Park is the green sea turtle, and the Yanbaru National Park is the Yanbaru rail.
The animals are painted in beautiful colors.
Those interested can apply from May 14th.
