Ishikawa Prefecture: “We want to increase the number of places where volunteers can stay”
Ishikawa Prefecture, which was affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, checked on February 16 and found that about 26,200 people had registered as volunteers.
However, only about 2,700 people were active.
Since there are few places to stay, the time available for volunteers to work is short, which is a problem.

From now on, we will need a lot of places for government staff and volunteers to stay.
We would like to increase the number of places to stay in the affected cities and towns.”
Under the plan, the prefecture, city, etc. will prepare land and build prefabricated buildings.
The prefecture is considering allowing people at hotels and inns damaged by the earthquake to work there and receive fees from people staying there.
They say it will also help support hotels and inns that are not yet open.
