According to Reuters and other sources, a helicopter crashed onto the roof of a resort hotel in Cairns, Australia early on the 12th, and part of the building burst into flames.
The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash site was an area crowded with tourists, and approximately 400 guests were evacuated.
A man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s who were staying at the hotel were taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation, but they have now been discharged.
