Japan has decided the mark for its first Deaflympics.
In 2025, the big sport event for people with hearing handicap, Deaflympics will be opened in Tokyo.
This is the first time Japan has organized this event.
65 students from all over Tokyo’s secondary schools and high schools had sent in their design to be considered.
The design was thought up by a university student with hearing and seeing handicaps from the National University Corporation Tsukuba University of Technology.
In order for secondary and high school students to easily understand the designs, a discussion and voting was held.
With that, a design with the form of a hand had been selected.

The person who thought up the design, miss Tada Ibuki, commented. ” I am very happy.
The design has a hand that’s making sign languages, and from that hand blooms the sakura blossoms of the future.
