Taking more medicine than necessary is called an ”overdose.”
A research group from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare looked at 122 people who were taken to the hospital after taking too many drugs that could be easily bought in stores, such as fever-reducing drugs.
The average age was 25.8 years, and the youngest was 12 years old.
79.5% were women and 20.5% were men.
More than 80% of people lived with their families
