A new book titled “Totto-chan at the Window” has been released.

Actor Tetsuko Kuroyanagi published a book called ``Totto-chan at the Window’’ in 1981.
This book contains memories of Mr. Kuroyanagi’s elementary school teachers and friends.
Translated into over 20 foreign languages and read by millions of people around the world

In his new book, he writes about how many bombs were dropped on Tokyo during the war in 1945, and about becoming an actor and studying abroad.
Kuroyanagi said, ``When I thought about the children in Ukraine, I remembered myself as a child during the war.
黒柳さんは「ウクライナの子どもたちのことを考えたとき、戦争のとき子どもだった自分を思い出しました
I think what children hate most is losing their freedom in war and not being able to do anything.
I wrote this with that in mind.”
