Protests against National Guard Dispatch in Washington, D.C.
On the 6th, many citizens protested in Washington, D.C.
They opposed President Trump's command over the capitol city's police and the deployment of the National Guard.
Walking from Meridian Hill Park to the White House area, protestors help signs saying things like, 'Protect Washington's freedom' and 'Stop Trump('s ways).'
Former government worker, David, commented, "Crime has shrunk a lot, I don't know why we need the National Guard."
Recently, President Trump has increased police and National Guard presence saying that crime is on the rise, but many citizens oppose this claim.
Additionally, Stephanie, a student, said, "Washington is a quiet city,
the National Guard being here is scary."
The protest also voiced opposition against ICE's crackdown on immigrants.
Former teacher, Tommy, says. "We need more humanitarian methods."
Apparently, a lot of money is spent daily on ICE and National Guard activities.
