Early morning fire at a housing complex in Saiwai Ward, Kawasaki City; 74-year-old woman dies after being unable to escape
午前6時前、川崎市幸区の河原町団地の「3号棟の11階の部屋から煙が出ていて、中に人がいるかも知れない」と消防に通報がありました
Just before 6 a.m., the fire department received a report that smoke was coming from a room on the 11th floor of Building 3 at the Kawaramachi housing complex in Saiwai Ward, Kawasaki City, and that there might be someone inside.
Pump trucks and other equipment were dispatched to extinguish the fire, and the fire was mostly extinguished in about two hours.
According to the police, a 74-year-old woman who lived in the room where the fire was believed to have started was unable to escape, and was rescued approximately 30 minutes after the alarm was reported and taken to a hospital in the city, where she was confirmed dead.
Her husband (78), who lives with her, escaped on his own and is suffering from some degree of sore throat.
