世界で有名な音楽家の坂本龍一さんが、3月28日に亡くなりました
Ryuichi Sakamoto, a world-famous musician, passed away on March 28.
was 71 years old
坂本さんは、小さいときからピアノと作曲を勉強して、東京芸術大学の大学院を卒業しました
Sakamoto studied piano and composition from a young age and graduated from the graduate school of Tokyo University of the Arts.
In 1978, a group called ”YMO” created new music using synthesizers and computers.
1983年には俳優で映画「戦場のメリークリスマス」に出て、映画の音楽もつくりました
In 1983, he appeared in the movie ”Merry Christmas on the Battlefield” as an actor, and also composed the music for the movie.
In 1988, he received many awards including the American Academy Award for the music for the movie ”The Last Emperor”.
Sakamoto used music to support the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
