Penguins at Paris Zoo received vaccines for bird flu
Penguins received vaccines for bird flu at the Paris Zoo in France.
Recently, with the spread of bird flu around the globe, a lot of bid have been dying.
In the zoo, in order to protect the penguins, they are vaccinated every year in winter.
The other day, 41 Humboldt penguins were lined up along the pool.
One of the penguins, Shisu, was called in a gentle voice by the zookeepers and received an injection.
After the injection, Shisu immediately returned to its place.
While injecting the vaccine, the staff measure the height and weight of the penguins, take feather and blood (samples?), and check the microchips.
There have been no instances of bird flu at the Paris zoo, but since there are ravens and parrots and other wild birds, caution is necessary.
