Foreign technical interns learn skills while working in Japan
According to the Immigration Services Agency, 9,753 technical intern trainees lost their whereabouts last year.
This is an increase of 747 people from the year before, the highest number ever.
50人に1人ぐらいの割合で、いなくなっています
Approximately 1 in 50 people have disappeared.
The largest number is Vietnam with 5,481 people.
Myanmar has 1,765 people, China has 816 people and Cambodia has 694 people.

This is thought to be one of the reasons why they disappear
The Immigration Services Agency says that technical intern trainees can change their place of work if they experience violence or harassment.
