アメリカの動物園で飼育され衰弱したかのような姿に懸念が広がっていたジャイアントパンダが27日に中国に戻りました。　
The giant panda, which had been bred in a zoo in the U.S. and had caused widespread concern due to its seemingly emaciated appearance, returned to China on the 27th.
国営の中国中央テレビは、アメリカ・メンフィスの動物園で飼育されていた雌のジャイアントパンダ、ヤーヤーが20年間の貸与期間を終了し27日の午後に空路で上海に到着したと報じました。　
State-run China Central Television reported that Yaya, a female giant panda kept at a zoo in Memphis, USA, arrived in Shanghai by air on the afternoon of the 27th after completing her 20-year loan period.
ヤーヤーを巡ってはやせ細ったような姿を捉えた映像が中国のSNSで拡散し、早期の返還を求める声が強まっていました。　
A video of the Yaya, showing it looking dilapidated, has gone viral on Chinese social media sites and there are growing calls for its return soon.
ヤーヤーはエアコンと庭のついた検疫施設で1カ月間過ごし、その後、北京の動物園に移送される予定です。　
Yaya will spend a month in an air-conditioned, garden-equipped quarantine facility before being transferred to a zoo in Beijing.
また、ヤーヤーとともにメンフィスの動物園で20年間を過ごし今年2月に死亡した雄のジャイアントパンダ、ローローについて、解剖の結果、死因は心臓病だったと伝えました。
They also reported that an autopsy on Lolo, a male giant panda who died in February of this year after spending 20 years at the Memphis zoo with Yaya, revealed that the cause of death was heart disease.
