理化学研究所が国産初の量子コンピューターを27日から稼働すると発表しました。
理研の量子コンピュータ研究センターは国産初の量子コンピューターを27日からインターネットのクラウド上で公開し、大学や企業などの研究者などが利用できるようにすると発表しました。
量子コンピューターは量子力学特有の物理状態を用いて高速計算を実現するコンピューターで、スーパーコンピューターを上回る計算能力を秘めた次世代の計算機です。
今回、開発されたのは超低温に冷却すると電気抵抗がなくなる「超伝導」の回路で計算する方式で、性能の目安となる「量子ビット」のチップを64個搭載しています。
量子コンピューターは新材料の開発や創薬、金融市場の予測など幅広い分野への応用が期待され、世界中で開発競争が激化しています。
