富山県高岡市の河川敷では恒例のコイのつかみ取り大会が行われました。　
The annual carp catching contest was held in the riverbed of Takaoka city, Toyama prefecture.
イベントは、この地域が湧き水が豊富でコイの養殖が盛んだったことから毎年行われています。　
This event is held every year because the area is rich in spring water and carp farming is very popular.
「鯉のつかみどり大会」は大人から子どもまで参加でき、80人ずつが20分間池の中で奮闘します。　
The "Catch the Koi" contest is open to adults and children alike, with 80 people each struggling in the pond for 20 minutes. 　
以前は、コイの重さを競っていましたが去年からは200匹の中に金のコイと銀のコイが放たれ、宝探しのように探し回ります。
Previously, the weight of carp was competitive, but since last year, gold and silver carp among 200 carp have been released and people are looking for them as a treasure hunt.
「よっしゃ、金取った！皆集まっとって、金って言っとたから、行ったら、取れました」　
“Okay, caught a yellow one. Everyone was there and said there was a goldfish, so I went and caught it!”
取った魚は、それぞれ持ち帰り、刺身にして食べるということです。
Each fish taken is to be taken home and eaten as sashimi.
