上野動物園のジャイアントパンダ、シャンシャンの中国への返還期限が12月末まで延期されることになりました。　
The deadline to return the giant panda Shanshan from Ueno Zoo to China has been postponed to the end of December.
シャンシャンは去年中に中国へ返還される予定でしたが、新型コロナの影響で今年5月末まで期限が延期されていました。　
Shanshan was expected to be returned to China by the end of last year, but due to the effect of the new strain corona virus this deadline was postponed until the end of May this year.
しかし、感染の拡大が収まらず12月末までさらに延期されることになりました。

上野動物園は現在、感染対策のために臨時休園が続いていて、小池都知事は「シャンシャンに会える状況にしていくためにも協力をお願いしたい」と話しました。
