昔、京の都に「たのもしどん」と呼ばれる勇士がいました。

ある朝、たのもしどんの妻は、たのもしどんのために早く起きてお弁当を作っていました。
One morning, Tanomoshidon’s wife got up early to prepare a lunchbox for her husband.

When she looked at the kitchen, she suddenly saw a figure.
。
たのもしどんは怖かったですが、妻の前なので刀を持って台所に行きました。
I was very scared, but since my wife was there, Tanomoshidon took his sword and entered the kitchen.

When he entered the kitchen, he saw a big man holding a sword.
。
Tanomoshi-don got very scared, quickly went back to his room, and crawled under the covers.

And she said, I have to work at the castle, so could you go and see for me?

After that, when my wife tried to enter the kitchen, the door to the room came off and fell on top of Tanomoshidon.

He thought a thief had come, and trembling, he said, Please spare my life.
。
The next morning, when his wife entered the kitchen, she saw her own shadow reflected on the wall.

What they thought was a thief was actually their own shadow.
。
That day, as if nothing had happened, Tanomoshidon came to the castle again and said, The thief was so scared of me that he ran away without stealing anything, then walked around confidently once more.
