The summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, an international framework led by China and Russia, will enter its second day on the 1st, with President Xi Jinping scheduled to deliver a speech and full-scale discussions to be held on the current international situation and other topics.
中国やロシアなどが創設した国際的な枠組み、上海協力機構の首脳会議は、8月31日から中国の天津で始まりました。
The summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, an international framework established by countries such as China and Russia, began on August 31 in Tianjin, China.
今回の首脳会議には、中国の習近平国家主席をはじめ、ロシアのプーチン大統領やインドのモディ首相、それにイランのペゼシュキアン大統領など20を超す国の首脳が出席し、31日夜は習主席と彭麗媛人">夫人が歓迎のレセプションを催しました。
At this summit, more than 20 world leaders attended, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Modi, and Iranian President Pezeshkian. On the night of the 31st, President Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan hosted a welcome reception.
2日目の1日は、加盟国の首脳による会議が開かれ、習主席が演説するほか、現在の国際情勢について意見を交わしたり、今後の多国間の協力の有り方などについて協議したりすることにしています。
On the first day of the second session, a meeting of the leaders of the member countries will be held, during which President Xi will deliver a speech. They also plan to exchange views on the current international situation and discuss the future direction of multilateral cooperation.
そして「天津宣言」を発表するほか、首脳会議の成果として安全保障や経済協力の強化についても文書を採択することにしています。

中国としては、今回の首脳会議を通して、中長期的な競争相手と見ているアメリカなどを念頭に、新興国や途上国などいわゆるグローバルサウスの国々との関係を強化し、連携をアピールしたいねらいがあるものとみられます。
China is believed to be aiming, through this summit, to strengthen its relationships with so-called Global South countries such as emerging and developing nations, with the intention of demonstrating cooperation, especially with the United States and others that it sees as mid- to long-term competitors.

ロシアのウシャコフ大統領補佐官は記者団に対し、上海協力機構の首脳会議のため中国を訪れているプーチン大統領が中国の習近平国家主席とことばを交わしたと明らかにしました。
President Putin speaks with President Xi Russian presidential aide Ushakov told reporters that President Putin, who is visiting China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, exchanged words with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Mr. Ushakov stated that the two discussed recent contacts between Russia and the United States, and suggested that they referred to the meeting between President Trump and President Putin held in Alaska, USA, on August 15 regarding the situation in Ukraine.
