On the 9th, an elderly couple in their seventies who lived in a house in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture, were found collapsed and bleeding, and their deaths were confirmed.

According to investigators, both had wounds that appeared to be caused by a blade. The police arrested the 16-year-old grandson who lived with them on suspicion of murdering his 75-year-old grandfather, suspecting him of murder.

Around 4:40 p.m. on the 9th, in a house in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture, a family member called the police after being informed by their 16-year-old high school student grandchild that the 75-year-old husband and 72-year-old wife living in the house were found collapsed and bleeding.

When the police arrived, the two were found collapsed beside the futon in the first-floor bedroom and were confirmed dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the husband had what appeared to be knife wounds on his neck, while the wife had similar wounds around her waist and abdomen.

Police had been investigating the case on the assumption that the two people were involved in an incident based on the situation at the scene, but have now arrested the 16-year-old grandson who lived with them on suspicion of murdering his grandfather.

He has admitted to the charges during questioning, and the police are investigating the details of the incident further.

According to a woman who lives in the neighborhood, when she returned home from work after 4:30 p.m. on the 9th, police cars were rushing to the scene with their sirens blaring.

The woman said, This area is usually peaceful, so I never imagined something like this could happen.

Also, regarding the deceased couple: The husband was easy to talk to and had a good personality, and the wife was quiet.

I often saw them together at a nearby coffee shop, and sometimes they were out with the grandchild they lived with, he said.
