東京都は水路を活用した水辺のにぎわいづくりの一環として、通勤などに利用できる定期船を運航する会社に補助金を出しています。
Tokyo provides subsidies to companies operating regular ferry services that can be used for commuting, as part of efforts to enliven waterfront areas by utilizing waterways.
今回、新たに運航が始まるのは、品川区の五反田と天王洲アイルの間のおよそ4キロを往復する便で、13日は運航開始を前に、区の関係者や報道陣向けの体験会が行われました。
This time, the newly launched service is a route of about 4 kilometers round trip between Gotanda in Shinagawa Ward and Tennozu Isle. On the 13th, before the official start of operations, a trial ride was held for ward officials and members of the press.
船は、天王洲運河と目黒川をおよそ30分かけて運航します。
The boat operates along the Tennozu Canal and the Meguro River for about 30 minutes.
電車と徒歩より10分ほど移動時間は長くなりますが、景観を楽しみながら移動できるのが魅力だということです。

この船は、平日の午後4時から午後10時までの間に7便運航されるということで、定員は44人、大人の運賃は片道900円です。

事前予約が可能で、空きがあれば当日でも乗船できるということです。

東京都は満員電車や街なかの混雑を回避できる交通手段の1つとして、通勤などに船を活用するようPRしています。

事業者に補助金も出していて、これを受けて都内では、
▽おととし10月から中央区の日本橋と江東区の豊洲を結ぶ航路、
▽去年5月から中央区の晴海と港区の日の出を結ぶ航路で運航されています。

▽日本橋と豊洲の航路は、火曜日から金曜日までの夕方から夜にかけて、
▽晴海と日の出の航路は、月によって運航される曜日が変わりますが、週2回から3回、平日の朝の時間帯に運航されています。
The route between Nihonbashi and Toyosu operates from Tuesday to Friday in the evening to nighttime, while the route between Harumi and Hinode operates two to three times a week on weekday mornings, although the operating days vary depending on the month.
いずれも電車などより短い時間で移動ができ、大人の運賃は片道500円となっています。

都によりますと、これらの航路は、買い物などの移動手段として一定の需要があるということですが、通勤手段としてもさらに定着させていくため、PRしていきたいとしています。
