In the two auctions conducted last month, a total of 210,000 tons of government reserve rice was successfully bid on, and some of it has already started being sold in supermarkets. However, the average retail price of rice announced this week has continued to rise for 14 consecutive weeks, indicating ongoing price increases.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries plans to release reserve rice every month until this summer, and the focus is on whether intermittent releases will lead to price stability for rice.

More than 70,000 tons were auctioned to four companies, with JA Zen-Noh National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations accounting for over 90% of the total.
