On the morning of the 28th, at a demolition worksite in an industrial area of Kawasaki City, part of a building component fell, leaving four people seriously or slightly injured. In addition, one person remains trapped at the site and rescue operations are ongoing.

Around 9:30 a.m. on the 28th, there was a report to the fire department from Higashi-Ogishima, Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki City, saying, Something fell while we were working.

When the fire department and police arrived, they found that during the demolition of a building, part of the materials fell during work, and a total of five workers were involved in the accident.

According to the police, four out of the five people have been rescued so far. One person is seriously injured, and three have minor injuries, but all are conscious.

The remaining person is believed to have fallen into the underground area, and rescue operations are still ongoing.

Police and fire departments are investigating the details of the situation at that time.

The site is a reclaimed land in a section of the Keihin industrial area, where many logistics warehouses and similar facilities are located.

When some time has passed and the smoke begins to clear, you can see several people coming out from behind the fence and fleeing the scene.

A man in his 40s who works at a company near the site said, Debris even landed on my companys premises. He continued, There was a tremendous boom and the ground shook, so I thought it was an earthquake. A few of us went down the emergency stairs and escaped outside.

Then I was able to confirm that pieces of concrete had flown onto my company’s premises.

The construction work at the site is always carried out from morning until night, but such an accident happened, and its very frightening, they said.
