A large amount of alcohol was detected in the driver who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and the police believe there is a possibility that the driver had been drinking nearby just before the incident. They are also investigating the case as a possible charge of dangerous driving causing injury.

On the 5th, in Yokosuka City, after a passenger car rear-ended a city bus, it veered into the oncoming lane, collided with several other vehicles, and finally came to a stop after crashing into another city bus.

Masahito Nonaka 31 from Naniwa Ward, Osaka, who was driving a passenger car, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and on the 7th, he was sent to the prosecutors office.

He reportedly admits to the charges during questioning.

According to the police, after the passenger car first collided with a route bus, it ran a red light over a distance of about 250 meters and repeatedly collided with or hit seven other vehicles. In total, eight people sustained minor injuries in the series of accidents.

Since the suspect was found to have about three times the legal limit of alcohol in their system, the police believe there is a possibility that they had been drinking nearby just before the incident and were in a state where normal driving was difficult. They are therefore also investigating on suspicion of dangerous driving resulting in injury, including interviewing the passengers.
