A direct night train connecting Paris and Berlin will be launched every night this fall

Austrian Federal Railways has recently launched a night passenger train service directly connecting Paris and Berlin.

Although the two cities compete for the top spot in Europe in terms of visitor numbers, the rail links between them have been described as ”traditionally very poor” and there have been no direct trains since the 1990s.

For the time being, the trains that have started operating will run three times a week via Strasbourg, France, and Frankfurt, Germany.
However, this fall, the plan is to switch to one train per night.
The train, also known as the ”Nightjet”, advertises itself as offering a high degree of direct service to business travelers and tourists.
