It turned out that border guards who were building defenses on the banks of the Dnipro River in Ukraine discovered the remains of an ancient Roman settlement.
The Ukrainian border guard said in a statement on the 20th
The border guard explained that ”Amphora (a type of pottery) and fragments of jars began to emerge from the ground at a depth of about 1 meter.”
The military contacted local archaeologists and halted construction at the site to preserve the valuable historical relics.
According to the Border Patrol, after achieving ”victory”, a team of archaeologists will begin work on the site.
