Birds' Blossom Viewing
昔、ある山で桜が満開になった
Once upon a time, there was a mountain where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
そこへトンビとスズメとハトとカラスがやってきて、みんなで花見をすることになった
Then, a kite, a sparrow, a pigeon and a crow came there. They all decided to have a cherry blossom viewing.
The kite caught fish, the sparrow went to town to buy sake, the pigeon cooked and the crow went to borrow wrapping cloth and bowls.
トンビ・スズメ・ハトがそれぞれの仕事を終えてくたくたになっている頃、ようやくカラスが戻ってきた
Just as the kite, sparrow and pigeon became worn out after finishing their tasks, the crow finally returned.
カラスは花見の酒盛りの前に、余興で楽しもうと提案した
The crow proposed to have a little entertainment before the viewing party.
First, the kite played the flute.
To match that, the sparrow played the shamisen.
The pigeon, in sync with the black kite’s and sparrow’s musical performance, wrapped a spotted hand towel around its head and started dancing.
ふと気が付くとカラスの姿はなく、料理も酒もすべてなくなっていた
When they suddenly realized it, the crow was nowhere to be seen, and all the food and sake had disappeared.
The crow had eaten everything by himself.
The kite, sparrow, and pigeon were frustrated, but it was already too late.
トンビがカラスを見るといじめるようになったのは、この時からだということである
It is said that the reason kites started bullying crows dates back to this incident.
