世界一高いビルや世界一深いプールに続き、中東のドバイで、世界一大きい観覧車が登場しました。
アラブ首長国連邦のドバイで、21日、新たに建設された観覧車のオープニング式典が花火やドローンを使い豪華に開かれました。
「ドバイ・アイ」と名付けられた観覧車は高さが250メートルあり、世界で最大であると同時に、最も高いものとなります。
1周の所要時間は30分余りで、一度に1750人が乗れます。
ドバイには、世界一高いビルや世界一深いプールなどがありますが、また新たな世界一が増えたことになります。
新型コロナの影響で一時、ドバイへの観光客は激減しましたが今月開幕した万博と共に、世界屈指の観光都市の復活に向けた目玉になると期待されています。
