タリバンが実権を握ったアフガニスタンで活動を続ける国際機関の日本人職員が初めて取材に応じ、現地の状況を語りました。
A Japanese employee of an international organization that continues to operate in Afghanistan, where the Taliban has taken control, spoke for the first time in an interview and talked about the local situation.
「政権がガラッと変わって、タリバンのガードがついている、不透明な感じだが、何とか仕事は続けている」　
"The government has changed drastically, and the Taliban protection force is in a state of uncertainty, but I'm trying to keep working."
森山さんは国連難民高等弁務官事務所の職員として、アフガニスタンにとどまっています。　
Moriyama remains in Afghanistan as an employee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
情勢が不透明ななか、女性スタッフの活動を一部控えるなど影響も出ていますが、物資提供などの支援は現在も継続しているということです。　
While the situation is unstable, although the restriction of female employees' activities is having an impact, support such as providing supplies is still happening.
「この仕事は全うしようということで、自分でもここに残るということは決めてやっています」　
"I'm trying to get this work done, so I've decided to stay here."
国連難民高等弁務官事務所は約3900万人のアフガニスタン国民の約半数が支援を必要としていると指摘しています。
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees points out that about half of the estimated 39 million Afghans need assistance.
