箱根・芦ノ湖では湖畔に咲く一本桜が満開となりました。

箱根のレジャー施設「箱根園」の湖畔沿いには、高さ12メートル、枝張り22メートル、樹齢およそ100年の大島桜が植えられています。

傘のように枝を広げ、富士山を思わせ湖畔にそびえる姿は「湖畔の一本桜」と呼ばれ、芦ノ湖の春を彩るサクラとして人気があります。

今年は全国的にサクラの開花が早まりましたが、湖畔の一本桜も同様で例年は4月下旬に見頃を迎えますが、早くも満開を迎えています。
