夏休みに入り川遊びを楽しむ人が増えるなか、警視庁が小学生や保護者に対し、水難事故防止を呼び掛けました。　
As more and more people enjoy playing in the river during summer vacation, the Metropolitan Police Department has urged elementary school students and their parents to take precautions against water accidents.
警視庁・昭島警察署などは今日、東京・昭島市を流れる多摩川で、カヌー教室に参加した小学生や保護者らに水難事故を防止するための講習や訓練を行いました。

参加した小学生らはライフジャケットの正しい着用方法や溺れた際の対処の仕方を学ぶなどしました。

去年の8月にはこの近くの多摩川で浅瀬で遊んでいた10歳の男の子が溺れて死亡する事故がありました。

警視庁は川や海で遊ぶ際は浅瀬でも必ずライフジャケットを着用するよう呼び掛けています。
