気候変動に関する国際会議「COP26」に合わせ、温暖化対策に消極的な国に贈られる「化石賞」に日本が前回に続き選ばれました。

国際NGOの気候行動ネットワークは2日、温暖化など気候変動対策に後ろ向きな国として日本などを選び、「化石賞」を贈ると発表しました。　
The Climate Action Network of International NGOs announced on the 2nd that Japan will be selected as the country that does not want to take measures against climate change such as global warming, and will receive the "Fossil Award".
その理由について、日本が引き続き化石燃料を使う見通しであることや、岸田総理大臣が火力発電の廃止などに言及しなかったことを挙げています。　
The reason is that Japan is supposed to continue to use fossil fuels and Prime Minister Kishida has not mentioned the abolition of thermal power generation.
また、温室効果ガスの排出を抑制できるとする「水素とアンモニアを燃料とした発電」への支援についても、「未熟でコストがかかる技術」だと批判しました。　
They also criticized advocating for "power generation using hydrogen and ammonia as fuel", which is said to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as "immature and expensive technology".
日本は前回のCOP25の際にも、当時の小泉環境大臣の演説などで「化石賞」に選ばれていて、2回連続の不名誉な受賞となりました。
At the last COP25, Japan was selected for the "Fossil Prize" because of the speech given by the Minister of the Environment Koizumi at the time, and this was the second disgraceful award in a row.
