東京ディズニーリゾートを運営するオリエンタルランドは、2028年度に日本で初めてディズニークルーズを就航すると発表しました。
ディズニークルーズは1998年にアメリカで運航を開始して以来、カナダやヨーロッパなど世界各国へ就航エリアを拡大しています。
日本初の就航に向けてオリエンタルランドが新たに造船する船は、日本船籍のクルーズ船としては最大規模の客室約1250室、乗客定員約4000人になるということです。
巨大クルーズの船内では、ディズニークルーズオリジナルの衣装に身を包んだキャラクターたちとの触れ合いなど様々なエンターテインメントを提供していくとしています。
首都圏の港を発着する2泊から4泊程度の周遊クルーズを運航予定で、年間約40万人の乗客を見込んでいます。
投資額は先月、東京ディズニーシーにオープンした新エリア「ファンタジースプリングス」に匹敵する3300億円に上るとしています。
新型コロナウイルスを経て日本でのクルーズ運航が本格的に再開し、今後さらなる市場の拡大が期待できるということです。
