栃木県宇都宮市で特産のナシ「にっこり梨」の収穫が始まりました。　
Harvesting of the special pear variety "Nikkori Pear" began in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture.
栃木県は全国で有数のナシの産地です。　
Tochigi Prefecture is one of the top pear producing areas in Japan.
特に1996年に品種登録されたにっこり梨は栃木県だけで生産され、特産品となっています。　
In particular, Nikkori Pear, registered as a species in 1996, is only produced in Tochigi Prefecture and is a specialty here.
「豊水」と「新高」という品種の掛け合わせで、実が大きく、重さが1キロを超えるものもあり、贈答品としても利用されています。　
A combination of the two varieties "Toyomizu" and "Niitaka", some of the fruits are large and weigh more than 1 kg, and are even given as gifts.
今年は春先の天候に恵まれ、糖度が高くてみずみずしくおいしいできになっているということです。　
This year, the weather is favorable in early spring, the amount of sugar is high, so the pears are very fresh and delicious.
青空のもと、ナシが傷付かないよう、一つひとつ丁寧に収穫がされていました。　
Under the blue sky, each pear is carefully harvested so as not to be spoiled.
にっこり梨は11月上旬まで収穫が続き、直売所のほか、東京の市場にも出荷されるということです。
The fresh pears will continue to be harvested until early November and will be shipped to the Tokyo market as well as to the direct sales agent.
