東京・上野動物園でおととし生まれた双子のジャイアントパンダ、シャオシャオとレイレイの親離れするための訓練が教師から始まりました。　
Teachers have begun training Shaoshao and Reirei, twin giant pandas born in the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan, to be separated from their mothers. 　
2021年6月23日に上野動物園で誕生した雄のシャオシャオと雌のレイレイはもうすぐ2歳になります。
Male Shaoshao and female Reirei were born at Ueno Zoo on June 23, 2021 and are about to turn two years old.
2頭はこれまでは母親のシンシンと一緒に暮らしていました。　
The two animals had previously lived with their mother, Shinshin.
パンダはもともと2歳ごろから単独で生活する動物で、園によりますと、1月下旬ごろからシンシンがうなり声を上げてシャオシャオやレイレイを遠ざけようとする様子が確認されていたということです。　
Pandas are originally solitary animals that live alone from around 2 years of age, according to the park, since late January, Shinshin had been growling and trying to keep Shaoshao and Reirei away.
親離れの訓練の最初のステップは午前中だけ展示室を分けてシンシンと離れて過ごします。　
The first step in the mother separation training is to separate the exhibit rooms for the morning only and spend time away from Shinshin.
訓練初日の双子はいつもと変わらずよく餌を食べ、遊んでいたということです。　
On the first day of training, the twins were feeding and playing as well as usual.
その後、徐々に母親と離れる時間を長くして、およそ10日間で完全別居を目指しますが、シャオシャオとレイレイは当面の間、一緒に暮らす予定です。
They will then gradually increase their time away from their mother, the goal being to separate them completely in about 10 days, but Shaoshao and Reirei plan to live together for the time being.
