気候変動に関する国際会議＝COP26が、まもなくイギリスで開幕します。
The International Conference on Climate Change = COP26 will soon open in the UK.
若者に大きな影響力を持つ、スウェーデンの環境活動家、グレタ・トゥーンベリさんが開催地に入りました。　
Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, a major influence on young people, entered the venue.
イギリス北部グラスゴーで31日に開幕するCOP26には、197の国と地域が参加します。　
197 countries and territories will participate in COP26, which opens on the 31st in Glasgow, northern England.
パリ協定で採択された平均気温の上昇を1.5度以内に抑えるとした目標の達成に向け、各国の温室効果ガス削減目標の強化や途上国への資金提供で合意できるかが焦点です。　
To achieve the goal of keeping the average temperature rise within 1.5 degrees Celsius adopted by the Paris Agreement, the focus is on reaching agreement on enhancing greenhouse gas reduction targets in each country and financing developing countries.
開幕に先立ち、グレタ・トゥーンベリさんがおよそ20カ国の環境活動家とともに鉄道を使ってグラスゴーに入りました。　
Before opening, Greta Thunberg traveled to Glasgow by rail with environmental activists from around 20 countries.
グレタさんは来月5日、気候変動対策を訴える抗議デモに参加する予定です。
Greta will join a protest rally calling for measures to combat climate change on the 5th of next month.
