農林水産省は製粉会社などに売り渡す輸入小麦の価格について来月以降、11％引き下げると発表しました。
小麦は需要量の8割以上を海外から輸入していて、安定供給のため政府が一括購入して製粉会社などに売り渡しています。
価格は4月と10月に見直されていて、農水省によりますと、10月は4月からの半年間に比べて11.1％安い1トンあたり6万8240円になりました。
値下げは2020年10月以来、3年ぶりです。
値下げの背景について農水省は、主要産地のアメリカの天候が小麦の生育に好条件であったことや中国などの輸送需要が減少したことによって海上運賃が下落したためとしています。
