闘犬と普通の犬
ある家に飼われているイヌが、猛獣と戦う様に訓練されていました。
ある日、たくさんの猛獣が勢揃いしているのを見たこのイヌは、首輪を引きちぎって町に逃げ出しました。
まるで牛の様にたくましい闘犬が逃げて来るのを、他のイヌたちが見て、
きみは、なぜ逃げて来たの？
と、尋ねますと、闘犬は、
確かにぼくは、毎日腹一杯、うまい物を食って贅沢に暮らしているよ。
だけど、ライオンだのクマだのを相手に戦わされるのだから、
いつだって、『今度は死ぬか？』、『今度は死ぬか？』と、恐ろしくて仕方がないんだ」
これを聞いて、普通のイヌたちはお互いに、
ぼくたちは貧乏だけど、幸せなんだなあ。
ライオンやクマなんかと戦わずに済むんだから と、言い合いました。
贅沢な暮らしをしていても大変な毎日を送るよりは、
貧乏でも、のんびりとした毎日を送る方が幸せだと、このお話しは教えています。
