広島電鉄に因りますと、駅ビルの2階以上に高架で路面電車が乗り入れるのは全国で初めてだということです

3日朝は広島駅から広島港に向かう始発電車の出発を前に式典が開かれ、地元の町内会の関係者らが参加してテープカットを行いました

この後、定刻の午前6時1分になると、プラットホームに待機していた始発電車が出発し、詰めかけた地元の住民や鉄道ファンたちがカメラで写真を撮ったり拍手で送ったりしていました
