Prime Minister Ishiba, together with Indian Prime Minister Modi, rode the Tohoku Shinkansen to promote the introduction of Japan’s Shinkansen to the high-speed rail under construction in India, highlighting its safety and punctuality.

Prime Minister Ishiba held a summit meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi on the 29th and agreed to cooperate in introducing Japan’s Shinkansen bullet train system to the high-speed rail currently under construction in India.

India is planning to introduce Japans Shinkansen on a high-speed rail line connecting the commercial cities of Mumbai and Ahmedabad, which are about 500 kilometers apart, with the introduction expected in the 2030s.
