American media reported that within the Trump administration, there is a plan being considered to place the governance of the Palestinian Gaza Strip, which continues to be attacked by the Israeli military, under American control for 10 years after the war, and to proceed with its development as a resort area and more.

The influential American newspaper, The Washington Post, reported on the 31st that within the Trump administration, there are discussions about placing the Gaza Strip under American control for at least 10 years after the end of the fighting, and developing it as a base for resorts, high-tech industries, and other purposes.

This plan is in line with the proposal announced by President Trump this February, in which the United States would take possession of the Gaza Strip and relocate its residents for reconstruction. It envisions the voluntary relocation of all over two million residents to other countries or specific areas within the Gaza Strip.

It is said that residents who relocate will be given benefits such as $5,000 in cash.

It has been reported that, regarding the situation in Gaza, President Trump held a meeting at the White House last week, which was attended by former British Prime Minister Blair, who once served as a special envoy mediating Middle East peace, and others, to discuss topics such as postwar governance.

The Trump administration is believed to be aiming to find a path toward a ceasefire by discussing with Israel a plan for governance that would exclude the Islamic organization Hamas, as ceasefire negotiations have reached an impasse.

However, up until now, there have been criticisms from the United Nations and others saying that forcible relocation of residents is a violation of international law, and backlash from the Palestinian side and Arab countries is expected.
