The special prosecutor, who conducts investigations independently from the government in South Korea, announced on the 18th that searches were being carried out at the headquarters and related facilities of the former Unification Church—the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification—located in the suburbs of Seoul, in connection with suspicions surrounding Kim Keon-hee, wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol.

Korean media reports that the National Intelligence Service, the countrys intelligence agency, is also being searched in connection with another allegation involving Mr. Kim, and investigations into Mr. Kim are expected to accelerate in the future.
