In the afternoon, temperatures are expected to rise further, with a dangerous high of 38°C forecasted for Kyoto City, Maizuru City in Kyoto Prefecture, and Toyooka City in Hyogo Prefecture. Other areas, such as Fukushima City, Maebashi City, Kofu City, Tottori City, and Saga City, are expected to reach 37°C, while Yamagata City, Nagoya City, and Toyama City are forecasted to hit 36°C. In Kitami City, Hokkaido; Aomori City; central Tokyo; and Takamatsu City, temperatures are expected to reach 35°C, signaling extreme heat across various regions.

A heatstroke alert has been issued for the Abashiri, Kitami, and Monbetsu areas of Hokkaido; Ibaraki Prefecture; Tochigi Prefecture; Saitama Prefecture; the 23 wards and Tama area of Tokyo; Kanagawa Prefecture; Yamanashi Prefecture; Aichi Prefecture; Mie Prefecture; Niigata Prefecture; Ishikawa Prefecture; Fukui Prefecture; Kyoto Prefecture; Hyogo Prefecture; Wakayama Prefecture; Hiroshima Prefecture; Shimane Prefecture; Tottori Prefecture; Kagawa Prefecture; Yamaguchi Prefecture; the northern part of Kyushu; and Kagoshima Prefecture except for the Amami region, as the risk of heatstroke is extremely high.

Please make sure to take thorough measures against heatstroke, such as using air conditioning appropriately, replenishing fluids and salt, and taking frequent breaks when working outdoors.

On the other hand, due to rising daytime temperatures and cold air aloft, the atmosphere will become extremely unstable in the afternoon, especially in inland areas of eastern Japan, with the possibility of heavy or very heavy rain.

Please be very careful of flooding in low-lying areas, landslides, and rising river levels due to heavy rain. Also, watch out for lightning, tornadoes and other severe gusts of wind, and hail.
