Due to the strong winds caused by Typhoon No. 15 on the 5th of this month, it has been reported by the city that in Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where significant damage occurred, 74 people were seriously or slightly injured, and damage to homes has exceeded 1,000 buildings.

On the 5th of this month, as Typhoon No. 15 approached, developed rain clouds covered Shizuoka Prefecture, and tornadoes occurred in four cities and towns: Makinohara City, Kakegawa City, Yaizu City, and Yoshida Town. On the 7th, the meteorological observatory announced that the tornado in Makinohara City was recognized as a tornado.

According to Makinohara City, as of 5 p.m. on the 7th, four people were seriously injured and seventy people sustained minor injuries.

In addition, there have been a series of residential damages in the city, with one house completely destroyed, 107 houses partially destroyed, and 936 houses partially damaged, bringing the total to at least 1,044 houses affected.

Since the investigation is not yet complete, the city expects that the number of damaged houses will increase further in the future.

Restoration work on the power outage is progressing; all power is expected to be restored by the 8th. Due to strong gusts caused by Typhoon No. 15, about 10,000 households in Makinohara City and Yoshida Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, had been without power, but as a result of ongoing restoration work, as of 4 a.m. on the 8th, the number has decreased to about 4,700 households.

On the 5th of this month, as Typhoon No. 15 approached, developed rain clouds covered Shizuoka Prefecture and a gust of wind occurred.

According to Chubu Electric Power Grid, as a result of this situation, approximately 10,000 households in Makinohara City and Yoshida Town experienced a power outage. As restoration work progressed, as of 4:00 a.m. on the 8th, about 4,690 households in Makinohara City and about 40 households in Yoshida Town were still without power.

It is expected that everything will be restored by the 8th.
