Princess Akiko of Mikasa departed for Turkey last year to attend events such as the opening ceremony of an exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkey.
彬子さまは14日夜、羽田空港の搭乗口で宮内庁の職員らとあいさつを交わして民間機に乗り込み、トルコに向けて出発されました。
On the night of the 14th, Princess Akiko exchanged greetings with Imperial Household Agency staff at the boarding gate of Haneda Airport, boarded a commercial flight, and departed for Turkey.
宮内庁によりますと、日本・トルコ協会の総裁を務める彬子さまがトルコを訪問するのは8回目で、現地時間の15日、去年、日本とトルコが外交関係樹立100周年を迎えたことを記念して最大都市イスタンブールで開かれる、日本の陶磁器の展覧会のオープニング式典に出席されます。
According to the Imperial Household Agency, this will be Princess Akikos eighth visit to Turkey as the president of the Japan-Turkey Society. On the 15th local time, she will attend the opening ceremony of a Japanese ceramics exhibition held in Istanbul, Turkeys largest city, to commemorate the 100th anniversary last year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkey.
そして、16日には祖父の三笠宮さまから3代にわたって続いてきたトルコとの交流について講演されます。
And on the 16th, he will give a lecture about the relationship with Turkey that has continued for three generations, starting with his grandfather, Prince Mikasa.
17日には、首都アンカラのアンカラ大学で美術史の名誉博士号の授与式に臨み、18日に、三笠宮さまの発意で設立された研究機関が発掘調査を進めている中部の遺跡を視察されます。

19日には彬子さまが特別教授を務める千葉工業大学などが発掘調査を始める、別の遺跡のくわ入れ式に出席するなどしたあと、21日に帰国されます。
