Belarusian President Lukashenko, an ally of Russia, emphasized on the 26th that Belarus is prepared to build a new nuclear power plant in eastern Belarus, with a view to supplying electricity to the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine that Russia has taken control of through its military invasion.
ルカシェンコ大統領は26日、訪問先のモスクワで、プーチン大統領と会談しました。
President Lukashenko held talks with President Putin in Moscow, where he was visiting, on the 26th.
ベラルーシ大統領府によりますと、会談でルカシェンコ大統領は、ロシアが軍事侵攻で掌握したウクライナ東部と南部の地域に電気を供給することを視野に「ベラルーシ東部に原発を建設するかもしれない」と述べました。
According to the Belarusian presidential office, during the meeting President Lukashenko stated that Belarus may build a nuclear power plant in the eastern part of the country with a view to supplying electricity to the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine that Russia has taken control of through its military invasion.
これに対し、プーチン大統領は「資金面での問題はまったくない」と応じ、両首脳はさらに関係強化を進めていく方針を確認しました。
In response, President Putin stated, There are absolutely no financial problems, and both leaders confirmed their intention to further strengthen their relationship.
ルカシェンコ大統領としては、同盟国ロシアのウクライナ侵攻を後押しする姿勢を改めて示した形です。
As President Lukashenko, he once again demonstrated his stance of supporting the allied nation Russias invasion of Ukraine.
しかし、ロシアがウクライナ東部と南部の、あわせて4つの州の併合を一方的に宣言したことを、ルカシェンコ大統領が容認したと受け取られる可能性もあり、ウクライナ側の反発も予想されます。
However, there is a possibility that President Lukashenkos actions may be perceived as accepting Russias unilateral declaration of the annexation of four regions in eastern and southern Ukraine, and backlash from the Ukrainian side is also expected.
